The 2016 Toyota Innova looks more than just a facelift with premium design cues, updated power trains and new features.

The new model has been spotted many times on international as well as Indian roads. Toyota recently revealed new Innova through a video and before the official unveil, a brochure break cover revealing all the specs and features of the new MPV. Here’s an overall outline of the king MPV.

Price:

According to some reports, the updated model is expected to cost Rs. 1.5 lakh more than the ongoing model. The current model is available between a price domain of 10-16 lakhs (ex-showroom) which already overpriced by 2-3 lakhs, so another bump of 1.5 lakh would put it in the premium segment category.

Engine details:

The new Toyota Innova is based on an all-new lighter and stiffer Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. 2016 Toyota Innova will come with a 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC with Dual VVT-i which is good for 139 PS of power@5600rpm and 184 Nm of torque@4700rpm. For the Indian market, it will come with an all new 2.4 liter GD series engine with VNT Intercooler churning out 149 PS power@3400rpm and 342 Nm of max torque on the MT variants and 360 Nm of torque on the Automatic variant. The new 2.4 engine will replace the ongoing 2.5l oil burner in Indian. Both the engine will be equipped to 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

The automatic gearbox will come with a sequential switch matic technology that facilitates rapid gear shifts. There is also an Eco mode that helps in emitting higher fuel economy on the new model.

Space and Dimensions:

According to leaked brochure, 2016 Innova is longer, wider and taller than the current model signifying the cabin could be enhanced. However, the wheelbase of both the cars remains the same.

Length 4585mm 4735mm
Width 1765mm 1830mm
Height 1760mm 1795mm

Exterior:

As mentioned earlier, new Innova will come with major design upgrades like a swept back projector headlamps with LED DRLs for better visibility, humongous grille with thick chrome accents, new sporty bumpers with integrated stylish fog lamps which lend a premium look to 2016 Innova.

It will run on new 16 and 17 inch (Q trim) alloy wheels. And what’s tempting about the overall design is L shaped tail lamps (which somehow reminds of Honda Mobilio), roof mounted rear spoiler and sportier bumpers giving much better road presence than ongoing model.
