Volvo India has launched V90 Cross Country in India at an asking price of Rs. 60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pan India). The new car expands brand’s cross country range to three, the range already includes S60 cross country and V40 cross country. Built on SPA (Scalable product architecture), it claims to deliver practicality of SUV and comfort of a saloon. Like most Volvo models, V90 Cross country also brought to the country via CBU route.

Under the hood is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel mill that makes 232bhp of max power and high torque of 480Nm, linked to an 8-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The power is transmitted to all wheels via AWD drive system. The engine propels the car to accelerate 0-100 km/hr in 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 240 km/hr. It also comes with four driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Off-road, and Dynamic.

At tape, it measures 4936mm in length, 1879mm in width, 1475mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2941mm. It has a fuel capacity of 60 liters. The V90 Cross Country is available in seven exciting colors- Crystal White Metallic, Magic Blue Metallic, Bright Silver Metallic Osmium Grey Metallic, Havana Brown Metallic Onyx Black Metallic and Magic Blue Metallic.

In terms of design, it carries forward the same design of S90 in estate form. Hence, it flaunts the same Thor Hammer shaped LED lights with LED daytime running lights, big signature grille with loads of chrome, rugged front bumper with LED fog lights. On the sides, it gets black wheel arches, 20-inch alloy wheels and large wheelbase translates into large space inside. The rear is adorned by a sloping windscreen and L-shaped LED taillights.

The cabin is also based on S90 sedan accompanied by comfort features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system accompanied by a big 12 inches driver instrument cluster, doors and dash with aluminium panels, four-zone climate control, electric tailgate, panoramic sunroof, Bowers and Wilkins sound system with 19 speakers, Nappa perforated leather seats and much more.

With safety as a priority, Volvo V90 Cross Country is loaded with a range of active and passive safety features like Lane Keeping Function, Front Collision Mitigation Support, hill start assist, parking assist, adaptive cruise control, radar-assisted Pilot Assist, Hill descent control, ABS with EBD, Traction Control, ESP etc.
