Volkswagen Polo AllSTAR revealed ahead of its imminent launch

Volkswagen has revealed the details of its upcoming Polo ALLSTAR which seems to be a special limited edition to cash in the festive season. The car was unveiled at 2016 Geneva motor show which has now been listed on company’s official website. As per reports, Volkswagen is pepping up to introduce the limited edition during the festive season. To be based on highline trim, the ALLSTAR edition is expected to around Rs. 25,000 more than the standard variants.

The limited edition comes incorporated with number of features and changes on outside which was not available on regular variants. In terms of changes, it sports new 15 inch alloy wheels, ALLSTAR badge on the B-pillars and blue silk color shade of Ameo compact sedan. The hatchback will also be offered in reflex Silver, Flash Red, Candy white and Toffy brown.

The European edition comes with winter package which includes climatronic AC, heated windscreen and seats and headlamp cleaner. However, this package won’t be the part of Indian spec model owing to climate conditions.

Inside, it gets more changes like rear AC vents, adjustable front armrest with storage, ALLSTAR badge sill plates, aluminum pedals and new upholstery with contrast stripe making ALLSTAR better package than the regular Polo.

For international markets, this edition is available with 1.0 litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. In India, Polo ALLSTAR will continue to be powered by 1.2 litre MPI petrol which develops 74bhp and 110Nm. The diesel will get a 1.5l TDI diesel engine good for 89bhp power and 230Nm of torque. Both the engines will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The 105PS and DSG automatic will be deprived of the new edition.

Volkswagen will soon launch facelifted Vento which will sport new smoked headlamps with LED DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and some features from Polo ALLSTAR. Polo GTI, the high performance version of Polo is expected to hit Indian shores soon which will be powered by a 1.8l Turbocharged petrol engine which develops 189bhp power and 320Nm of torque. It sends power to front wheels via a seven speed DSG automatic gearbox. The Polo GTI is expected to burn pockets with a premium price tag of Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
