Volkswagen Ameo and Polo were initially available in three variants- Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. Following the Foot Steps of Vento, both cars will now get a new top end variant in the form of Highline plus. The new grade is available in both petrol and diesel disguise though Volkswagen hasn’t updated its official website yet. For Ameo, Prices starts at Rs. 7.45 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for diesel. On the other hand, Polo Highline Plus trim is priced at Rs. 7.24 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 8.78 lakh for the diesel grade.
You shed an amount of Rs. 26,000 over the Highline variant but you some additional features to both cars. Volkswagen Polo comes with a reverse parking camera, new touchscreen infotainment system and new 16-inch alloy wheels replacing the 15-inch wheels. Like Polo, Ameo highline Plus also get reverse parking camera, 16-inch alloy wheels and updated touchscreen infotainment system.
Both cars are powered by a 1.2l petrol motor that makes 74bhp power and 110Nm of torque. The diesel segment is taken care by a 1.5-litre engine that makes 89bhp and 230Nm in Polo and 108bhp and 250Nm torque in Ameo compact sedan. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while Ameo diesel is available with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
