User’s Review of Hyundai i20

A user of i20 Magna 1.4 CRdi states that the car has good looks, comfortable seating arrangement  but lacks in technical features especially pick-up at initial stage. He got a mileage of 16 kmpl and for him the best thing about the car was the grip of the road it’s tyres hold, he had a totally disappointing experience with the brakes,” the car is uncontrollable at higher speeds”, he states. He suggests other’s not to go for a model which doesn’t have ABS system equipped with the brakes.

Another user agreeing with him said that he’s was having the car since apr 2012 and after having drove 17000 kms the brakes got jammed and on getting it checked, he had to get replace the brake booster and master cylinder as the car, thankfully the car was still under warranty! :p But he annoyingly said “after spending huge lump sum on a car, a problem like this at such an early period should not occur”.

Yet another just adds more fuel to the negative thoughts sharing his horrible experience of the i20, mainly because of the poor suspension, he states the 6 gear is useless with the present suspension and suggests Hyundai people to redesign it. The same is repeated by user of Asta 1.4 CRDi , the car is gives a bumpy ride even on small potholes !!

Well there are some users who totally contradict the above said verdict, a person who has been using the car since feb 2013 has had no problem after driving for 7500km, another person who is using the Sportz CRDi feels the car is gud but for the mileage.

Hmm, well here’s a user who regrets after having got the i20 1.2l Sportz, please don’t cry after reading this because he’s made a huge list of cons!! To start with the car has poor pick up and according to him, it can’t ascend a bridge/flyover in 5th gear!! That’s quite shocking! Isn’t it?? The list continues; the speed drops immediately as you release your foot from the accelerator and therefore an immediate gear shift is needed then, on crowdy roads or traffic jams the car has to be maneuvered in 1st gear as the car is unable to support 2nd gear then, there’s lot of noise and pollution to be felt inside even with windows closed. And lastly the outside body is very fragile.

An experienced user, experienced as in he’s used quite a many cars namely Maruti 800, zen, Accent, ford Iron diesel and petrol versions, swift dzire and Honda city, states that the car has fairly good exteriors and can match cars with heavier pricing. He is all praise for the interiors as well and believes that a newbie would definitely get mistaken if they were sitting in a car worth 12 lacs!! He is using the Magna (O) 1.4CRDi and observes the mileage to be 16 kmpl and ride quality is very smooth but at the turns and curves. He also has complaints regarding the pick up.

Overall the car has good looks both inside and outside but pickup and mileage definitely needs impeovement.
