Recently, Toyota has launched the second generation of the vehicle christened as Innova Crysta which reportedly has garnered over 15,000 bookings. The numbers suggest that the new model is riding the same path of the outgoing model and looking to outshine the previous benchmarks.

It is certainly redefining the MPV segment in its own way despite being priced higher the previous model and it already commands a waiting period of over two months. Out of 15k bookings 60 percent has been for the 2.8 litre automatic variant. Unfortunately, Innova Crysta is not making its presence felt in the National capital due to the ban imposed by Supreme Court on the new registrations of 2000cc diesel engine. In the last fiscal year the company has lost over 7 percent of the annual sales due to this Ban in Delhi-NCR region.

There is also a bigger 2.8l GD engine that belts impressive numbers 171bhp and 360Nm, linked to a six speed automatic gearbox making it first Innova to get AT in India.

The Innova Crysta flaunts a whole new shape and aggressive design thanks to bold multi slate front chrome grille joining the big projector headlamps featuring LED DRLs. The lower end of the front fascia has wide air dam and circular fog lamps. The Side boasts sleek creases, chrome embellished on door handles, around the windows and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The rear bears boomerang shaped tail lamps, roof spoiler and twin reflectors making it sporty.

The Cabin is leap ahead of the previous Gen model and is an epitome of luxury. In terms of features and goodies it sports a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control with AC vents for all three rows, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, dual glove box, smart entry system, 50:50 rear seat spilt, seven airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, clutch start system and brake assist making it modern and safe.
