Tata Tiago bookings crosses 22,000 mark in just 2 months

The Tiago seems to bring back the good old days for Tata motors as the cute little hatchback garners over 22,000 bookings in just 2 months time. According to the company, 10,000th model has been rolled out from the Sanand facility and the company says that the 1.2l Revotron petrol variants account 85 percent of the total bookings. The Tiago is also the 2nd car after Nano to attain more than 10,000 sales in two months.

The Tata Tiago is company’s first model to be based on new XO platform and new impact design language which will also be part of upcoming Nexon and Hexa SUV. Tata’s hard work finally seems to be paying off as Tiago ticks all the right boxes whether it is design, quality, features or powertrains.

The Hatchback sports a signature front mesh black grille with Tata’s Humanity line flanked by stretched back smoked headlamps with integrated turn blinkers. On the sides, it has sloping profile and sporty alloy wheels to make things even smarter.

The rear is embellished with jewel shaped tail lights which add more character to the overall design. In terms of features, it has an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system with USB, Aux-in and first in segment Juke app.

Tata is offering two engines with the hatchback- 1.2 litre Revotron petrol which develops 83.8bhp power@6000rpm and 114Nm of torque@3500rpm. Alongside is a smaller capacity diesel engine that puts out 69bhp power@4000rpm and 140Nm between 1800-3000rpm. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and sends power to front wheels. The Petrol delivers an ARAI claimed mileage of 23.8 Kmpl while diesel returns remarkable 27.28 Kmpl.

Prices of Tata Tiago Petro start at Rs. 3.20 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) while Diesel can be had in Rs. 3.94 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Future looks bright and promising as the Tiago based sedan codenamed as Kite 5 and Hexa crossover will make their way to Indian shores in months to come.
