Renault Lodgy Details and Features Revealed; Likely to be Launched in Top End Trim Only

After revealing Lodgy MPV in star Guild awards Renault which is all set to make its debut in April 2015 with the estimated price range between 8-12 lakh. Renault dealers have started taking pre-bookings of Lodgy for just Rs. 50,000 which is completely refundable if buyer changes his mind later on. Renault Lodgy will be positioned against Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and Toyota Innova.

There’s interesting news coming up related to Lodgy that the French automaker will launch the MPV only with top end variant followed by other models at the later stage. Renault India is optimistic about Lodgy’s success so they want to place it as a premium MPV or strictly as a family car.

Lodgy will be launched sometime in April 2015 but its features and specifications have been leaked online which suggests that Lodgy will come with top spec RxZ variant.

Renault Lodgy will be offered with two seating configurations- 7 and 8 seater and features list includes height adjustable driver’s seat, touchscreen infotainment system with Sat-NAV, USB and AUX-in compatibility, front-rear power windows, anti-pinch front-rear windows, A/C and power sockets for all three rows, reversing camera and rear parking sensors.

Renault Lodgy is one spacious MPV in the segment thanks to longest wheelbase of 2810mm which more than Toyota Innova’s 2750mm, Suzuki Ertiga’s 2740m and Mobilio’s 2652mm. The offers 275 liters of boot space which can be further extended up to 1861 liters by folding 2nd and 3rd rows.

Renault Lodgy has pretty good list of safety features too such as front fog lamps, dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), central locking, auto door lock, impact sensing auto door lock-unlock as standard features.

Renault Lodgy will be powered by a company’s trusted 1.5L K9K diesel engine with two states of tunes- 85PS and 110PS. The lower tune develops 85PS power@3750rpm with 200Nm torque@1900rpm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The higher end variant churns out 110PS power@4000rpm and 245Nm of peak torque@1750rpm comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The fuel efficiency of 85PS and 110PS are 21.4 KMPL and 19.98 KMPL respectively (ARAI certified). The Lodgy will also come with free roadside assistance for 2 years, Renault secure 2 year optional extended warranty and 2 year/50,000 kms standard warranty.
