News on launch of Tata Motors Movus MPV

On May 6th, 2014, Tata Motors launched one of its utility vehicles under a new badge after cutting down its price range by almost Rs. 100,000. This new multi-seater utility is named as ‘Movus’ which is said to be rebadged version of company’s Sumo Grande with added engineering changes. As the company said, the MUV would be available across dealerships in metros and selected cities.

Price:

Tata Motors launched this new Movus with mainly two variants (having different seating configurations) with the base price of 6.99 lakhs of CX trim and 7.25 lakhs of LX variant.

Engine details:

Reportedly, it is available in two trims namely CX and LX. The new Movus is powered by a 2.2 liter VARICOR diesel engine which is good to develop max power of 118.3bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.

As per the company, the Movus can deliver claimed mileage of 15.15 km/l. The vehicle can accelerate 0-100 km/h in approx. 15 to 16 seconds with the top speed of 140-150 km/h which seems quite impressive as per its size.

The MUV will be easy to maintain post buying and gets low running cost. It also has an engine warranty of 3 years or 150,000 km, whichever is earlier.

Space & Dimension:

The Movus is designed with 7, 8 and 9 seater configuration and also carries front facing, side facing captain seats.

It is 4421mm in length, 1780mm in width and 1940mm in height. Tata Motors offers wonderful wheelbase of 2550mm, clear height of 180mm, fuel tank capacity of 65 liters and min. turning radius of 5.35m in this new MUV.

Interior:

Tata Motors has designed the new Movus by using good quality material in it. As told above, the MUV is available in two trims CX and LX which also gets some difference with each other in terms of their feature availability. Tata’s this car gets features like heater, power steering with tilt adjustment, tip tap outside rear view mirrors, ebony black colored fabric with seat upholstery in vinyl combination, illumination ignition key slot, manual AC and much more.

Exterior:

The newly launched car is designed in such a way that it looks like a perfect combo of light weight construction with cosmetic features. The huge bumper at front in black, massively designed headlight cluster along with a pair of high intensity and turn indicators, radiator grille etc are making it a sporty aggressively designed MUV.

It is available in two decent colors which are White and Silver.
