Available to buy on Order across all Merc’s AMG performance center from today onwards, the beauty is priced at Rs. 2.40 Crores (ex-showroom Delhi). The AMG GT S will replace the ever so popular SLS AMG in the country and goes up against the likes of Jaguar F-type Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911.
This is the 14th launch for the carmaker in India this year as a part of 15 in 15 strategy and 5th AMG model to make its way to Indian shores this year. Mercedes-AMG is known for delivering some of the freakiest cars known to mankind. Last year, it showcased AMG GT at Paris motor show. A car which already won many races is now arrived in India win hearts.
Coming to the heart of the supercar, where it gets a 4.0 litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine that puts 503bhp of power@6520rpm and enormous 650 Nm of torque between 1750-4250rpm. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The flagship sportscar is good to make 0-100 km/hr in a brisk 3.8 seconds with limited electronically speed of 310km/hr, which is way fast by any standards.
The AMG GT S comes with Dynamic Select allowing drivers to choose from four different modes including Sport, Sport plus, Individual and Race. While by pressing the ‘M’ button in any of the above mentioned mode allows to change to manual gear shifts via the paddles located behind the steering wheel.
Space and Dimensions:
The iconic sportscar is 4546mm long, 1939mm wide, 1288mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2630mm. The car also offers practical stuff as it comes with massive 350 liters of boot space which we think is enough for a two door coupe.
Exterior and Interior:
The Stylish GT S is a typical sports car with long hood; Merc’s signature headlights with eye brow raised LED DRLs, three dimensional grille housing three star logo and sloping roofline making it one of the gorgeous looking model around. The two door coupe looks more cohesive as compared against SLS AMG with twin tailpipes, sleek LED tail lamps and wide haunches.
The Interior remains a typical Mercedes with loads of Alcantara and leather inside the cabin. There is a jet like dashboard with 8.4 inch touchscreen command system with GPS navigation, Burmester surround system with USB, SD card slot, 6 DVD changer and Wi-Fi hot spot, flat bottom steering wheel and sporty dials and AC vents, sports bucket seats, automatic climate control and auto dimming mirrors are some of the highlights of this beautiful monster. The center console is overall a driver centric one and would keep the driver busy with all the gizmos. There is numerous customization options available for both outside and inside in the form of packages.
The two-door coupe comes in seven color options- AMG solar beam Yellow, Designo Hyacinth red, Iridium Silver metallic, black, Selenite Grey, Designo Diamond white, Brilliant blue metallic.
