Here is an exciting news for all…BMW is bringing an all new facelift of the luxury hatchback Mini, named as Mini Cooper for its Indian admirers. This third-gen hatchback has been unveiled in UK and expected to hit Indian market by 2014.
Price:
In global market, this Mini Cooper’ price range is between £15300 to £18650 means 15.4 lakhs to 18.8lakhs as per the Indian rupees. This price could get ups & downs at the time of India launch, though.
Engine details & performance:
Reportedly, Mini has three variants namely Cooper, Cooper D, Cooper S. While the Cooper and Cooper D could get 1.5 liter 3-cylinder petrol as well as diesel engines, the expected engine availability in Cooper S is a 2.0 liter turbo churning out the max output of 186.4bhp. It is also rumored that these engines could get three options in transmission gearbox; a manual, an auto and a sports auto (dual clutch).
This new Mini Cooper is said to be lighter and more fuel efficient than its predecessor. The sporty car has ability to accelerate 0-100km/h in just 7.9 seconds (in Cooper), 9.2 seconds (in Cooper D) and 6.8 seconds (in Cooper S).
Space & Dimension:
This third-gen hatchback is comparatively bigger than the earlier models; 98mm longer, 44mm wider and 7mm higher. And thus, the new dimension of the car is 3821mm*1727mm*1414mm. The wheelbase & boot space have been increased too and hence it now carry the 2495mm of wheelbase and 211 liters of boot space.
Interior & Exterior:
Though the exact features list is not disclosed yet but it is expected to have a bulk of luxuriant features which would do justice with the BMW badge. In the unveiled images of this highly refining Mini, one can see its aggressive, sporty glimpse; undoubtedly it is going to be an excellent remake of a car. As reported till now, it is also going to get a radar cruise control for the first time which will manage a required distance from front vehicle and would automatically reduce the car’s speed to prevent from collision.
