Chevrolet is still alive, yes you heard it right. To repeal its luck in India, the American automajor has launched Trailblazer SUV at a price tag of Rs. 26.4 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).  To be sold in the country via CBU route, the Premium SUV is available on top of the LTZ variant and will lock its horns with segment leader Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour. Chevrolet is accepting bookings for the SUV at a token amount of Rs. 25,000 via Amazon India from 1:30 PM today.

Engine Details:

In India, Trailblazer is available with only 2WD (rear wheel drive) terrain which houses a 2.8 litre DURAMAX diesel engine that is claimed to produce a massive 198bhp of max power@3600rpm and gigantic peak torque of 500Nm@2000rpm making it the most powerful SUV in its segment. Being paired to a six speed automatic gearbox and it is around 29bhp and 155Nm more powerful the segment leader Toyota Fortuner.

Chevrolet Trailblazer returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency mileage of 11.45 km/l. Massive engine also propels premium SUV to make 0-100 sprint in less than 10 seconds (9.8 seconds) that makes it the quickest SUV among its rivals.

Space and Dimensions:

The Chevrolet Trailblazer certainly looks like a tall boy SUV with the dimensions of 4878mm length, 1902mm width and 1834mm height. It has a best in segment wheelbase of 2841mm along with 253mm of ground clearance to gobble up any terrain with ease. It offers seven seating configurations across three rows and carries a kerb weight of 2068kg.

The second and third row provides a theatre like seating position offering a good all around view to the occupants. It comes with a total of 32 internal storage space including a massive dual glove box and centre bin. 60:40 spilt for second row and 50:50 spilt for third further enhances the space inside. Also, The SUV can wade through 800mm of standing water.

Exterior and Interior:

Chevrolet Trailblazer is all about clean design which is dominated by new signature dual port front grille, bug eyed headlamps with first in segment projector units and chin up bumper that houses high intensity fog lamps for the rugged appearance. Side flaunts the clean-ish design of the SUV flanked by massive 18 inch alloy wheels, well-defined wheel arches, large window frames and dual tone roof rails. Rear is marked by stretched LED tail lamps with chrome accents, front bumper dwelled with two reflectors and two reversing lights.

A neatly placed interior gets the black-beige treatment with Piano black finish on the central console along with chrome accents all around the cabin. Trailblazer is the first Chevy to feature with 7 inch Mylink touchscreen infotainment system with Aux-in, USB and bluetooth connectivity and Siri Eyes support for iPhone users. Chevrolet has given dual tone upholstery (blend of Charcoal black+ Athos beige) to the leather bucket seats as standard.

Other interior embellishments include folding armrests with integrated cup holders, Cruise control, bluetooth hands free calling, four 12V power sockets, multi function steering wheel, silver inserts, automatic climate control with four AC vents for 2nd and 3rd rows located in the ceiling, electrically foldable ORVMs and many more.

Colors:

Like its limited variant availability, the SUV is also available with three exterior color paint schemes which are Sapphire black, Switchblade Silver and Summit White.

Safety:

The Brute SUV comes equipped with active safety features like dual front airbags, cornering braking control (CBC), Anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), Hydraulic brake assist (HBA), hill descent control (HDC), electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist (HSA), Panic brake assist (PBA), reverse parking camera along with parking sensors linked to 7 inch display system. Chevrolet is also offering 3yr/100km warranty and 24×7 roadside assistance programme.
