In recent years, Mercedes-Benz has adopted aggressive strategy when it comes to launching new products for the Indian market. Staying true on 12 new cars in 2016 in India, the C300 Cabriolet and S500 Cabriolet now emerges as carmaker’s 10th and 11th launch of the year. After making debut at 2016 Indian auto expo, the luxurious S500 cabriolet has been launched in the country. Mercedes has already retailed 9924 units in the country and with new launches carmaker is hoping to end 2016 on a high. Here is all you need to know about new S500 Cabriolet:-
Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet is available only in a single variant which has been priced at Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
The lavish convertible comes with a powerhouse V8 engine that produces massive 455bhp [email protected] and 700Nm of peak torque between 1800-3500rpm. The power is sent to rear wheels via a 9-speed 9G tronic automatic gearbox. It can go 0-100 km in quicker 4.6 seconds while hitting the top speed of 250km/hr.
Space and Dimensions:
The seductive four seater S500 Cabriolet measures 5027mm in length, 1899 in width, 1417mm in height and has a long wheelbase of 2945mm which is equivalent to its coupe sibling. The fabric soft roof top is available in four color shades and it can be closed and opened in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/hr. additionally, it also comes with Aircap feature which reduces the noise to large extent.
Exterior and Interior:
The Cabriolet version isn’t any different to its coupe sibling albeit the fabric roof top. Up front is a radiator chrome grille with tri-star logo, sweptback dynamic LED headlamps with intelligent light system, LED daytime running lights and Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus. It also gets 19” 5 spoke alloy wheels and LED combo tail lights.
Being brand luxurious model, it gets long list of equipments like Thermotronic automatic climate control along with sensors to automatically modulate the temperature, airmatic air suspension, 23 speaker burmester audio system, 360 degree camera, active park assist, massage function for front seats, COMAND Online HD colour Media Display with a 12.2 cm screen diagonal screen with DVD player, touchpad, 2USB slots, on board navigation and SD card slot. Other features on board are memory package for driver, front passenger and rear passengers, Head-Up Display, Ambient lighting in 7 colors, Nappa leather upholstery with a choice of 6 premium colors, Multifunction sports steering wheel in wood and leather finish and a lot more.
The Sexy cabriolet comes in nine color options- Selenite grey metallic, Cavansite blue metallic, magnetite black metallic, anthracite blue metallic, Designo diamond white bright, ruby black metallic, emerald green metallic, iridium silver metallic and Designo mocha black metallic.
Mercedes Benz S500 Cabriolet abounds in safety tech thanks to features like Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Headlamp Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Airbags for driver and co-driver, Headbags, Sidebag for driver and front passenger (combined thorax/pelvis bag) and Sidebags in rear.
