Mercedes-Benz has expanded its AMG range in India with the launch of AMG SLC 43 and it is German giant sixth product in 2016. Rebadged under company’s new nomenclature the SLC 43 is the successor to SLK 55 AMG roadster and has been priced at Rs. 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The speedster locks its horns with BMW Z4 and forthcoming Porsche 718 Boxster. Within 6 months of its global premiere, the SLC arrives in India showing the aggressive strategy adopted by Mercedes for the Indian market. It is also the first AMG model to bear ‘43’ badge.

Engine Details:

Powering the beast is a 3.0 litre twin turbocharged V6 engine that belts an impressive power of 367bhp@5500-6000rpm and massive torque of 520Nm@2000-4200rpm forgoing the 5.5 litre naturally aspirated V8 engine of SLK55. The new engine is paired to company’s latest 9G tronic nine speed automatic gearbox transmitting power to all four wheels. It can reach to 100km/hr from a standstill in just 4.3 seconds before notching the electronically limited speed of 250km/hr.

For enhanced drivability, it gets steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, dynamic Select function enabling the drive to alter suspension behavior on the basis of driving scenario.

Space and Dimensions:

The two door oomph measures 4142mm in length, 1817mm in width, 1304mm in height and sits on 2430mm of wheelbase.

Colors:

Unlike Mercedes-Benz other range, the AMG SLC gets limited paint scheme options which are Designo hyacinth red metallic, brilliant blue and obsidian black.

Exterior and Interior:

 The SLC gets raked radiator grille with massive tri slat logo, new front bumper with comparatively larger air intakes which braces up the facade of arrow shaped bonnet. The Dual beam sweptback headlamps with LED DRLs further give front fascia the sporty and aggressive look.

The side profile is reminiscent to the SLK such as jagged ORVMs and air inlet; it is also claims to have an improved retraceable soft roof top that can be operated at speeds up to 40km/hr. Rear features redesigned bumper with integrated AMG sports exhaust and revised LED tail lamps.

There are some revisions inside the SLC as well with most highlighted being the new 4.5 inch instrument cluster, 7 inch Command online touchscreen infotainment system with internet radio, voice command system and DVD player. It also gets a new leather draped multi function steering wheel, Nappa black/ Dinamica microfiber leather upholstery, red color seat belts, ambient lighting with several color options such as polar white, red and blue, SMART phone integration Apple car play & Google android auto.
