Carrying on its launch blitzkrieg, Mercedes Benz will launch the fifth AMG model in India this year on 24th November 2015. The AMG GT S will be the penultimate launch for the German car maker this year and also the second performance car after SLS AMG to be wholly developed by the specialists at Mercedes AMG performance division.

Internationally, AMG GT has been launched in first quarter of 2015 in two variants- GT and GT S but India will get only the latter one. The AMG GT S will be slotted between AMG GT and SLS AMG. The GT S will be brought to the country via CBU route and will be priced around Rs. 2.252.5 crores (ex-showroom). The Supercar will be sold exclusively via Mercedes AMG performance centers that the company has opened in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune.

The design follows the typical GT styling with long bonnet, raked windscreen, single horizontal front grille that houses a three star logo, along with large air inducts at front and sweptback headlamps with LED daytime running lights. It has a pair of thin LED tail lamps which complements the curvy design of the supercar.

On the inside, you will get aircraft kind of cabin flanked by premium leather seats and aluminum accents. The new model will come with rear differential as standard along with an electronically controlled differential for faster response. And, it would also feature AMG drive select and AMG dynamic select with drive modes- Comfort, Sport and Sport plus.

A host of safety aids are also on board like eight airbags including front, combined thorax, windows and knee airbags, adaptive brake system, tyre pressure monitoring system, adaptive high beam assist, blind spot assist and lane tacking package.

The GT S variant will be powered by a 4.0 litre V8 turbo engine which is good for a massive output of 503bhp and 650Nm of peak torque. The engine pushes the two door supercar to reach 100km/hr mark in just 3.7 seconds while offering the top speed of 311 km/hr. Power is sent to rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

The AMG GT S will be offered in eight colors including 2 shades of red, grey, silver, white, blue, black and two yellow.
