On 3rd June 2015, we might see the launch of the most awaited car of the year; ‘Celerio Diesel’ which has been spotted many time at company’s Manesar plant. The company dealers may start taking bookings for the same soon and Maruti is about to commence the dealer dispatch soon. In the meanwhile, specifications of Celerio diesel have been leaked; it is powered by all new 793cc, 2 cylinder diesel engine that will power Maruti’s future vehicles.

The 0.8L diesel engine will make 46bhp power@3500rpm and 125Nm of peak torque@2000rpm comes paired with 5-speed manual gearbox. The Celerio diesel will return 27.62 KMPL of mileage; hence it will be India’s most fuel efficient car till date overtaking the Swift Dzire.

Maruti Suzuki introduced AMT technology in India with Celerio hatchback in 2014 but in the case of diesel variant, the company might launch AMT variant of Celerio Diesel at a later stage. Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel will be offered with Hydraulic clutch system and will weigh only 90 kgs.

The Celerio diesel will be launched in four variantsLDI, VDI, ZDI and ZDI (O) at an expected price range of Rs. 4.7-6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Celerio Diesel will carry the DDis 125 badge and will be loaded with advanced safety and comfort features such as dual front airbags, ABS, bluetooth equipped stereo, new alloy wheels, remote control central locking system, fog lights, steering mounted audio controls, front-rear power windows etc.

In terms of design, there will be no changes at all from the petrol version; the only difference might be the badges at rear and sides. When launched, it take on Chevrolet beat, Hyundai Grand i10 and upcoming Tata kite hatchback.

With all these features, fuel efficiency, Celerio diesel is going to be another success story for Maruti Suzuki India and we hope it will be priced competitively.
