Maruti Suzuki Celebrates Celerio’s First Anniversary with ZXI AMT variant

Maruti Suzuki India has launched the Celerio ZXI AMT in India to celebrate the first anniversary of the hatchback. The Celerio was launched at 2014 Auto expo with manual and automated manual transmissions (AMT). The AMT was only available with LXi and Vxi variants but after customers demand Maruti has now offered AMT with top of line Zxi variant.

The Zxi AMT will retain all the features and equipments of Zxi variant and the company has started taking bookings for the Zxi AMT while the deliveries will commence in 9-10 days.

Some features which were missing on base variants will now be the part of new Zxi AMT variant such as Driver side airbag, front seat pockets, steering mounted controls, audio player with USB, radio, CD, Aux-in and bluetooth support.

Celerio Zxi AMT gets keyless entry system, dual front airbags (though in brochure driver side airbag is mentioned); body colored wing mirrors and bumpers, rear wiper/washer, central door lock, door ajar warning and gear position indicator etc.

The Zxi AMT variant continues to be powered with same petrol engine that also power the other standard variants. The 1.0L K series petrol engine delivers 67bhp power@6000rpm and 90Nm of peak torque@3500rpm, the engine helps Celerio AMT returns 23.1 KMPL ARAI certified mileage.

The ZXI AMT variant is available in six colors– blazing Red, Sunshine Ray, Pearl Arctic white, Silky Silver, Glistering grey and cerulean blue. Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the Celerio diesel in the country by end of this month or early June, will feature an all new 800cc two cylinder diesel engine and it is expected to return close to 30 KMPL mileage.

Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce the price of Zxi AMT variant but it is expected to cost Rs. 35,000 to 40,000 more than the standard Zxi variant.
