Launch of new Jaguar XF- Price, Specifications and features

2016 Jaguar XF has finally landed to the Indian shores carrying an introductory price tag of Rs. 49.5 lakh and goes all the way to Rs. 61.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top spec trim. In its second generation, the saloon is available across five trims with petrol and diesel powertrains. Bookings for the same have already begun at 23 dealerships across India while deliveries are expected begin next week. The new GEN XF will take on BMW 5-series, Mercedes Benz E-Class and upcoming Volvo S90.

Engine Details:

The 2016 Jaguar XF houses an all new 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine that crank up a max output of 177bhp and 430Nm of high torque. Exclusive to Prestige and Portfolio trims, the 2.0 litre petrol engine which delivers 237bhp power and 340Nm of torque. Both the engines are linked to an eight speed automatic transmission that sends power to rear wheels. The oil burner can hit a ton in 8.2 seconds while the petrol can achieve the same in just 7 seconds.

Both variants come with Jaguar Drive control which offers four driving modes- Standard, Eco, dynamic or Rain/Ice/Snow. In the fuel efficiency department, the petrol is capable of delivering an ARAI certified mileage of 13.12 Kmpl while diesel is good for 19.33 Kmpl.

Space and Dimensions:

At tape, new Jaguar XF measure 5067mm in length, 2091mm in width and 1457mm in height. The wheelbase has been increased by 51mm translating 15mm more legroom, 27mm more headroom and 24mm more knee room at rear. The saloon offers a boot space of 510 liters. Also, it is 170 kg lighter and 30 stiffer than the outgoing model thanks to 70 percent of aluminium construction.

Exterior and Interior:

The Saloon has retained the iconic design albeit few alterations like new adaptive headlights with J-shaped LED daytime running lights and new tail lamps inspired by soon to be launched F-Pace SUV.

In features, it comes bundled with bi-xenon headlamps, perforated leather seats, 10 palette mood lighting with choice of 10 colors, pulsing starter button at dashboard, memory function supported front seats and steering wheel, two zone automatic climate, 12.3 inch HD virtual instrument display with 3D maps and 17 speaker 825 KW Meridian audio system.

The Pure trim gets an 8 inch In control touch system with Swipe and touch controls for climate, audio and navigation controls. The Prestige comes with a larger 10.2 inch In-Control touch Pro system along with 18 inch alloy wheels and 14-way adjustable front seats.

Furthermore, for safety you get Keyless start, emergency brake assist, dynamic stability control (DSC), pedestrian contact sensing, traction control, dual front airbags with seat occupant detector, 360 degree park distance control, front and rear parking aid, perimeter sensing alarm and immobilizer, surround camera system, traction control, park assist, drive-away locking and remote control central locking with deadlocks.
