2018 Mini Countryman

BMW India launched the new 2018 Mini Countryman in India. The company had first showcased the Countryman at the Auto Expo 2018 earlier and the  company kept to its promise of launching the car in the first half of the year. The MINI Countryman became open for sale just few hours after the launch. The car is the first Mini to be locally assembled in India and will feature MINI’s latest design language. The vehicle is larger in size this time compared to the previous generation model and here’s everything that you need to know about the launch:

Engine Details

The Countryman is available in two petrol engines that are S and JCW and one diesel engine that is the SD variant. First launched in 2010, the new Countryman has changed a lot in most of the aspects for its second generation. It is 4,299 mm in length, 1,822 mm in width, 1,557 mm in height with a wheelbase measuring 2,670 mm. The car’s 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine produces a maximum power of 189 bhp and peak torque of 280 Nm. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine churns out 188 bhp of max power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle’s engines come mated to an 8-Speed Steptronic transmission. The car is capable of going from a standstill to 100 kmph in around 7.5 seconds, while for the diesel engine it’s in 7.7 seconds.

Exterior and Interior

On the interior front the car has extra space that is 30 per cent more precise. The company says, the increased space gives the passengers better rear legroom, front and rear headroom and rear seat shoulder-room that is more than what its segment competitors have. Mini adds acclaimed Satellite Navigation System, Bluetooth, Cruise Control, Emergency E-call and Active Guard. Not only this, but the company also offers owners a chance to personalize their new car, in which they get extensive color, trim options, advanced technology features and a range of other options.

Colors

The 2018 Mini Countryman is available in five color options – Light White, Chill Red, Thunder Grey, British Racing Green and Island Blue.

Safety

The safety kit packs airbags, Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, ABS, Cornering Brake Control and Run-flat tyres as standard.

Price

It is priced at INR 34.90 lakh for the Cooper S, 41.4 lakh INR for the Cooper JCW and 37.4 lakh INR for the Cooper SD (all prices ex-showroom, India).
