Jaguar XE Diesel launched in India at Rs. 38.25 Lakhs

Almost after a year, the British automaker has announced the launch of diesel version of XE in the Indian market. Starts at Rs. 38.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), it is priced Rs. 1 lakh over the petrol trim. The XE diesel is available in three trims– Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. Bookings for the sedan have already begun across all Jaguar dealerships in India for a booking amount of Rs. 2 lakh. The bookings can also be made via www.findmeacar.in. The diesel avatar will take on the likes of Audi A4 35TDI, BMW 320d and Mercedes-Benz C220d.

Under the hood is a 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel motor that makes 180PS power@4000rpm and 430Nm of torque between 1750-2500rpm. Powering rear wheels is an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car can hit triple digits from a dead still in just 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 228km/hr. Just as you know, petrol is fuelled by a 2.0l 4-cylinder that makes 200PS of max output and 320Nm of torque. It is linked with an 8-speed auto gearbox sending power to rear wheels. This engine can make 0-100 sprint in just 7.7 seconds while hitting a top speed of 237 km/hr. In addition, you get Jaguar Drive control that allows you to select between several drive modes- Normal, Eco, Dynamic and rain/ice/snow modes.

Based on Jaguar’s light-weight aluminium platform, XE is brimmed with range of premium features such as 8-inch touchscreen system with Incontrol support 380W Meridian Sound system, All surface progress control, sliding panoramic sunroof, 10-way power adjustable front seats, dual zone climate control, Soft grain and Windsor leather upholstery, electronic power assisted steering wheel (EPAS), mood lighting and much more.

The Jaguar XE sedan measures 4672mm in length, 1850mm in width and 1672mm in height. It rides on the wheelbase of 2835mm and has boot capacity of 455 liters. For Safety, it is equipped with lane departure warning, 360 degree camera, intelligent driveline dynamics, autonomous emergency braking, multiple airbags, lane keeping assist, torque vectoring by braking to name a few.
