Hyundai launches Creta S+ Diesel automatic in India at Rs. 13.56 lakhs

The 2016 Indian car of the year Hyundai Creta has been on top since its launch last year and has already received over 1 lakh confirmed bookings. Now, the South Korean automajor has now added a new automatic variant of the blockbuster SUV which is being introduced to the mid level S+ trim. The new variant comes with sticker price of Rs. 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) which is around a lakh less than the top spec SX+ AT trim.

The new trim is available for bookings at Hyundai dealerships across the several cities with the waiting period around 2 to 3 months. The S+ diesel is directly pitched against the new Duster AMT available at Rs. 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

As for the power, the S+ diesel gets a refined and tempting 1.6l Unit which belts out 121bhp of max output@4000rpm and 259Nm of high torque@1900-2700rpm, linked with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. Additionally, Creta is also available with 1.4l U2 CRDi diesel which is good for 89bhp and 220Nm of torque, linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

For enthusiasts, Creta also draws power from a 1.6 litre VTVT engine that churns out 121bhp power and 151Nm of torque comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

As it is available on the mid trim it misses out on certain features such as leather seats, touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, voice guided navigation package, hill assist control, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, chrome front grille and door handles, fully automatic AC etc.

Celebrating a year of awesome run in the Indian market, Hyundai will launch the first anniversary edition of the SUV on the end of one year in India.
