Following the recent Trend, Hyundai Motors have added dual front airbags as standard equipments on its bestselling cars Elite i20 and i20 active range to make things even better for these award winning models. The company has also upgraded the model’s line up for the year 2016 as the Sportz (O) variant has been discontinued.

Though, due to some unknown reason ABS is not offered on the entry level ERA and Magna variants of both i20 and i20 active. The standardization of the safety features might result in incurring cost by Rs. 15,000-20,000.

The top end Asta (O) variant of Elite i20 now gets Projector headlamps with Cornering function and LED Daytime running lights. The South Korean auto giant has upgraded the Elite i20 with 7 inch AVN touchscreen infotainment system and 16 inch alloy wheels last year.

The 2016 Elite i20 now will be offered in five trims with the same range of engines as before- 1.2l Kappa petrol producing 82bhp power and 114Nm of peak torque matched with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the diesel segment is taken care by a 1.4l U2 CRDi diesel engine that is good for a max output of 89bhp and 220Nm of peak torque, the engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
