Honda WR-V: Price, Specifications and Features

Honda’s first sub 4m crossover ‘WR-V’ has finally made its debut in India. Available in S and VX trims, the WR-V is priced between Rs. 7.75 lakh- Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The bookings are already started since early March at a token amount of Rs. 21,000. Just to recall, it is first model to be developed by Honda R&D India and our country becomes first market to get this model.

Price

Honda WR-V comes at an asking price of Rs. 7.75 for the base petrol and Rs. 8.79 lakh for the entry level diesel grade. Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

Engine Details

The Honda WR-V is powered by the same set of engines of the hatchback. The 1.2l 4-cylinder petrol delivers 89bhp power@6000rpm and 110Nm of torque@4800rpm, linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox and comes with a claimed mileage of 17.5 Kmpl. The diesel is a 1.5l unit that makes 99bhp@3600rpm and 200Nm of torque@1750rpm. This engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and has an impressive fuel mileage of 25.5 Kmpl. Unlike Jazz, there is no CVT transmission on offer.

Space and Dimensions

The crossover is longer, wider and taller as compared to hatchback and offers longer wheelbase and higher ground clearance. Honda WR-V is 3999mm long, 1734mm wide, 1601mm tall and has wheelbase of 2555mm. The ground clearance is rated at 188mm and offers 363 liters of boot space.

Colors

The WR-V is offered in 6 colour options- Alabaster Silver, Modern steel, Carnelian Red, White Orchid, Golden Brown and Premium Amber.

Exterior and Interior

Honda has some significant changes to differentiate from its hatchback sibling like revised front fascia that includes wider front grille, new vertical front fascia, revamped headlamps with LED DRLs. It also gets 16 inch alloy wheels, black plastic cladding on body panels and wheel arches and roof rails that add to its crossover touch. The rear sports sleek taillights and muscular bumper.

Moving to the inside, HR-V shares elements from Jazz and newly launched City sedan. The interior is available in dual tone shades in two options: – black and silver and black and bluish gray. For features, it gets a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, Mirrrorlink app, satellite navigation, USB and 1.5GB internal memory. Other noteworthy features include steering mounted controls, cruise control, automatic climate control, one touch electric sunroof, push start button etc.

Safety

As for the safety, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and offered as standard across the range. Multi-View Rear Camera with Guidelines, Intelligent Pedals (Brake Override System), ECU Immobilizer System, driver seat belt reminder are also on board.
