Honda cars India has announced the launch of facelift Brio; the hatchback received its update in India since its launch in 2011. Available in three trims- E, S and VX, the new Brio has priced in the range between Rs. 4.69 lakh and Rs. 6.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Updating the Brio is a task long time coming; it’s an entry level offering tailor-made for day to day city commuting. The facelifted brio comes with revamped exteriors and refreshes interiors that make car sportier and aggressive. With this brand is expecting to inlay some fresh breathe to Brio which has been a below average performer when it comes to sales volumes.

Brio comes with cosmetic changes similar to the Amaze facelift which was launched in March this year. The front fascia packs with a new gloss black single slat front grill flanked by aggressive front bumper, wide air dam with honeycomb mesh finish, circular fog lamps and familiar tear drop headlamps. The changes are identical to the Amaze facelift except for the chrome grille. The side profile is identical to the previous Gen model while rear sports redesigned tail lights, revised bumpers and new rear spoiler with brake light.

On the inside, new Brio took inspiration from Amaze, Jazz and BR-V with dual tone cabin while chrome accents and carbon finish have been added on steering wheel, AC vents, and central console for the refreshing feel.  The drive side instrument cluster is also all new with sporty meter, warning lights, tri analogue and white illumination. The new Brio will be offered with an option of 5 color choices- Alabaster Sliver, Urban Titanium, Taffeta White, Rally Red and White Orchid Pearl.

The central console has a basic audio system with bluetooth telephony and Smartphone integration; below is the automatic climate control unit with display and switch controls. For Safety, it is equipped with dual front airbags, engine immobilizer with floating code, ABS with EBD, front seat belt with pre-tensioner and load limiters and pedestrian mitigation technology etc.

At its heart, things remain identical to the previous model; the new Brio utilizes a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol motor that makes 87bhp power and 109Nm of high torque. The car comes with a five speed manual or five speed automatic transmission. The Brio delivers an ARAI rated mileage of 18.5 Kmpl for Manual and 16.5 Kmpl for AT variant.
