After months of rumors and spy shots, Ford has officially announced that the iconic car Mustang will make its way to Indian shores on 13th July, 2016. The launch event of this Pony car will take place at Buddha International Circuit, Greater Noida. In its sixth generation, it was first showcased at 2016 Auto Expo and is going to come in its top spec GT avatar.
Initially, Ford will be launching the fastback model while the convertible will follow at a later stage. Just to remind, it is for the first time ever in the history of Mustang that it will be introduced in RHD (Right hand drive) configuration especially for the markets of United Kingdom (UK) and India.
The first car was launched in 1964 and since then it has found 9 million happy customers across the world and it became the best sport car in Germany toppling BMW Z4, Audi TT and Porsche 911 etc. The Mustang sports an Independent rear suspension (IRS) and it is only model in company’s line up that doesn’t feature the conventional blue oval logo.

Mustang will be performance pack with Euro spec 5.0 litre Ti-VCT V8 turbocharged petrol engine which is rated to deliver 435bhp of impressive power and 542Nm of high torque. The car will be paired to a 6-speed select shift automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The brawny specifications allow car to propel 100km/hr speed from standstill in just 4 seconds with an electronically limited speed of 250km/hr. It will also get special performance pack which includes slip sport differential and four driving modes- Normal, track, Sport+ and wet.
The design needs no introduction and undoubtedly one of best looking cars ever made. Despite in the sixth generation it still symbolizes the iconic retro feel with long shark nose flanked by sleek projector headlamps, galloping horse on the front grille adds to the menacing look of the car.
The side facet has a sleek profile which significantly drops towards rear and highlighting it is the well sculptured wheel arches and shoulder lines. On the inside, it gets airplane kinda control switches, bucket seats, ambient lighting, premium leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, twelve-speaker Shaker Pro surround sound system with Micro SD card slot, dual HVAC system, rain sensing wipers, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, electronic line-lock and multiple airbags including knee and side bags.
The Legendary car will be brought as a CBU unit and estimated to come bearing a price tag around Rs. 50-60 lakh (ex-showroom).
