Ford Figo Sports and Aspire Sports launched in India

Ford has launched Sports editions of Figo hatchback and Aspire compact sedan in India called Figo S and Aspire S respectively. The Figo hatchback sports edition is priced at Rs. 6.31 lakh for the petrol trim and Rs. 7.21 lakh for the diesel trim. The Aspire Sports edition cost Rs. 6.5 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 7.6 lakh for the diesel variant. As compared to standard variants, Figo S is priced at Rs. 50,000 while the sedan variant comes dearer at Rs. 34,000.

Both the editions come with visual upgrades in the form of new honeycomb sporty grille with silver horizontal slates, black insert on headlamp bezel and graphics on side and rear. It also dons dual tone colour with contrasting black roof top, new black 15-inch alloy wheels and outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs). Both limited editions come with dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) as standard.

On the inside, Ford has given S-editions all black colour inlays, MyFord Dock for mobile charging, satellite navigation and integrating devices into car’s infotainment system. The exclusive S-edition seats wear contrast red stitching and leather packed steering with contrast colour.

The biggest change comes in the form of tweaked suspension to make the ride stiffer and firmer than before. This change would make Figo duos better handler and more engaging to drive. Under the hood, both cars remain same and continue to extract power from the same 1.2l petrol and 1.5l TDCi diesel engine.

The former makes 87bhp power and 113Nm while latterly is good for 99bhp power and 215Nm of torque. Both come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Besides, Ford also offers a beefy 1.5l petrol motor that delivers 110bhp power and linked with a dual clutch automatic transmission. However, this powerhouse engine is not offered in the sports editions.
