Bookings Open for Maruti Suzuki Ignis at Rs. 11,000; details revealed

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming hatchback crossover Ignis is slated for India on 13th January 2017 and will be retailed via Nexa premium dealerships. MSI has started accepting bookings for the hatchback; interested customers can book it via official website for an amount of Rs. 11,000. Maruti has recently launched the trailer of Ignis called Ignis ELECTRONATION which showcases Swedish DJ, Axwell who will also perform the at live launch event.

The car has been in limelight as all the details and specs have been disclosed before its official launch. Even before its launch, the car has already created hype in the market and if reports are to be trusted Ignis is expected to command a healthy waiting period of 7 to 8 weeks. Similar to Vitara Brezza, Ignis will also get various customization options and dual tone color combos which include blue/white, red/black and blue/black.

With Ignis, Maruti is look to target young buyers and what go well with it are LED headlamps, Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple car play, Android auto. For safety freaks, Maruti is offering dual front airbags, ABS with EBD as standard across the range. The Ignis will be offered in nine paint schemes.

The Ignis will be available in total 14 variants across petrol and diesel engine along with 4 trim levels- Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Once launched it will take on the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and expected to range at Rs. 5 to 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the heart, Ignis will have familiar engines i.e. 1.2l K-series petrol that churns out 83bhp power@6000rpm and 113Nm of peak torque@4200rpm. There’s a 1.3l DDis diesel engine that makes 74bhp power and 190Nm of torque@2000rpm. Both the engines will be mated with 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Ignis is claimed to deliver 26.8kmpl and 20.9kmpl for the diesel and petrol engines respectively.
