The German Carmaker BMW has recently launched the X1 in India. With the very name of BMW people get excited, let’s find out what X1 is to offer us. The car is available in 3 versions namely sDrive20d, sDrive20d Sportline and sDrive20d xline. The dimensions of the car are 4454mm x 1798 mm x 1545mm. With 4 cyl and 4 valve cylinder there is displacement of 1995 cubic cms. Maximum output (power) produced at 1 min is 135KW/4000 rpm and max torque produced at 1 min is 380 Nm/1750-2750 rpm. Fuel efficiency for City+ highway mixed is 17.05 kpl while the CO2 emission per km is 156.01g. Acceleration of the car is superb with just 7.9 sec to go from 0-100kmhr. The transmission is 8-speed automatic. The car is Servotronic with driving experience control including ECO PRO. To keep onlookers busy praising it, BMW X1 has 17 inch alloy wheels with star spoke style 317, the Sportline is blessed with V spoke style 318.

Coming to the exteriors of the car, the car has macho looks especially with its double D shaped chrome grills which are signature of the brand. The headlamps are safely placed inside the curve with Xenon lights. The fog lamps are also securely placed inside a hole at the bottom. Both the inside and outside mirrors have the automatic antidazzle feature. The car is also equipped with rain sensor, automatic driving lights, roof railing etc. To add more colour and vigour to your life are the 7 colours that the car comes in, including the Valencia orange, Marrakesh Brown and Glacier Silver.

There whole lot of things to be discovered inside, so let’s jump inside the cabin. Start the car with automatic Start button and now guys and gals get yourself rolling on the Sporty front seats having the Sensatec Beige/Black upholstery. The seat adjustment is electrical coupled with memory to remember your previous settings, thus saving your time and effort. Depending upon the version you choose there are either wood or aluminium finish interiors. Don’t worry if the Hottness quotient of the car is overwhelming you just cool yourself with the dual zone automatic air conditioning. The steering wheel has leather finish and has multi controls on it. There’s also a panoramic glass roof on top. Now because it has a BMW tag, it obviously has some connectivity advantages like the BMW apps, Navigation system with a 22.3 cm display screen for maps and also DVD player and integrated harddrive for audio files, handsfree facility with USB interface, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and not to forget the Rear Park distance control.

Now let’s talk about Safety. The car is fully protected with the front and side airbags with head airbag for the front passengers. Some of the most advanced technologies are being used here like the Cornering Braking system, AntiLock Braking System, Dynamic Stability Control with Dynamic traction Control and electronic vehicle immobiliser with crash sensor.
