The German Automaker BMW has launched the new X5 mDrive30d sport edition at the 2016 auto expo at a sticker price of Rs. 75.90 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The new variant will be placed between the BMW X5 and performance oriented X5M version in the lineup. The new top end variant comes with range of cosmetic and interior upgrades and it will be manufactured at company’s Chennai plant.

Talking about exterior changes, the mDrive30d variant now bears M sport package which includes new front bumper, 19 inches M carbon black alloy wheels, M-detailed tail pipes and vehicle key, high gloss shadow line and M specific M door sill which adds to the athletic profile of the SUV. While BMW retained some of the classy features such signature kidney grille in matte black, adaptive LED headlights, similar side and rear profile which enhances the muscular stance of the SUV.

BMW X mDrive30d M sport is available in three paintwork schemes- Carbon black, Space Grey and Alpine white (Non metallic). The upgrades continue to feature inside as well with full color head up display, M leather multi function steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, 16 speakers Harmon Kardon surround system with USB, Bluetooth connectivity and range of BMW app support.

Step inside and you’ll also get individual roof liner anthracite upholstery, BMW connect iDrive with touch controller, navigation professional, panoramic glass sunroof as standard.

Under the hood is a 3.0 litre twin turbo 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine that makes 258bhp of output and 560Nm of peak torque. It is matched to an eight speed steptronic automatic transmission and the power is sent to all wheels via xDrive all wheel drive system. The X5 in new avatar can make 0-100 sprint in just 6.9 seconds while ticking the top speed of 230km/hr.

As for the safety of the passengers, it boasts of six airbags, Hill Descent Control (HDC), electronic vehicle immobilizer, side impact protection, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), cornering brake control (CBC), Anti-lock braking system, crash sensor, dynamic traction control (DTC), integrated emergency spare wheel etc.
