The Japanese carmaker Nissan has launched 2017 Terrano SUV in India at an introductory price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the first update for the SUV since its launch in 2013. Nissan has updated its exteriors and added 22 new features but it remains mechanically same. In addition, the facelifted Terrano will be available in a new colour option i.e. Sandstone brown.

Price

Nissan has kept the prices unchanged for the base petrol and diesel variants while rest of the diesel variants are increased by up to Rs. 25,000.

Engine Details

As said, mechanically it remains unchanged; hence there are same two engines on offer. The 1.5l diesel engine is available in two states of tunes: 84bhp@3750rpm and 200Nm of torque@1750rpm and 108bhp@4000rpm and 243Nm@1750rpm. The former is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the powerful version is can be had in either 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The petrol is a 1.6l unit that makes 103bhp of power@5750rpm and 148Nm of torque@1750rpm and comes linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 2017 iteration of Terrano gets new suit of dual barrel headlamps with LED DRLs, signature Nissan grille, 16 inches machine finish alloy wheels, new electrically foldable outer rear view mirrors with turn indicators and new LED tail lights. On the inside, major updates include a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Smartphone integration, one touch lane indicator, a new 3-spoke unit with integrated control buttons, cruise control and anti-pinch driver side window. The cabin also sees new dual tone beige brown color, new armrest and illuminated power window buttons with white light.

Nissan Terrano facelift is available in new Sandstone brown color which joins the existing line up of Sapphire black, pearl white, Sapphire black, bronze grey and Fire red paint schemes.

Safety

Besides cosmetic changes and new features Nissan has also upgraded its safety part by offering dual front airbags, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD) with brake assist and automatic warning for braking in emergency as standard across the range. The electronic stability program (ESP), hill start assist, speed sensing auto door lock, central locking, and reverse parking sensors are some of the other safety tech available as an option.
