2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA launched in India at Rs 30.65 Lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched GLA facelift in India at an introductory price of Rs. 30.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Unveiled at 2017 Detroit motor show in January 2017 GLA is available in four trim levels – GLA 200 d Style, GLA 200 Sport, GLA 200 d Sport, GLA 200 d 4Matic. It will take on Audi Q3, Volvo V40 and BMW X1 in India. Thanks to GST, the facelift is affordable by up to Rs. 3 to 4 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the seventh product launch by Mercedes-Benz in India this year after AMG GLS 63 and new E-class.

When it comes to new updates, the facelift version gets new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, revised front fascia with larger air inducts, new front grille with chrome embellishments. On the sides, it features black ORVMs, new 18-inch alloy wheels, Blackened B-pillars for a sportier look. At the rear, GLA has LED tail lights, bumper with underride guard in silver chrome, and twin exhaust pipe.

On the inside, it comes with different dashboard theme, 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, updated instrument cluster. There’s also upholstery with 4 different trim options, electric tailgate, and sunroof, auto dimming mirrors, two zone climate control, 12 step ambient lighting and power seats.

Powering the GLA is the same 2.1-liter diesel engine with states of tunes- 136bhp power and 300Nm torque (200d) and 168bhp power and 350Nm of high torque (220d). In addition, it also comes with a 2.0-liter petrol engine that makes 183bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care by a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

For safety, it comes equipped with six airbags, Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist system360 degree rear view parking camera with bird’s eye view, traction control, keyless entry and parking sensors etc.
