2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Brochure leaked; Details revealed

The all new Swift has been spotted number of times hovering around the roads with heavy camouflage. Ahead of its official debut in Japan next month, the brochure of Japanese spec Swift has been leaked online. In India, Swift plays a vital role in Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in the industry. It always appears in the top cars of the month since its launch in 2005 and has been ruling the segment with full authority.

We have already had the glimpses of new Swift thanks to leaked images of the model. The new Gen Swift will be lighter and more spacious against the current model. The leaked images also reveal that hatchback retains the same silhouette but get new front fascia and rear end to provide a fresher feel.

The new Swift receives reprofiled sweptback projector headlamps with LED DRLs, big hexagonal front grille flanked by the new front bumper that houses new circular fog lamps with blacked out accents. The side profile gets sloping roofline, new stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels, new ORVMs with turn blinkers and blacked out A-B pillars.

The rear door handle has been moved to window just like Chevrolet beat. The rear profile has a flatter tailgate, new wraparound tail lamps and integrated roof spoiler. On the inside, it sports new dashboard with centrally located circular AC vents with large touchscreen infotainment system and quadrilateral corners. It also gets a new flat-bottom steering wheel with new control buttons, new twin pod instrument cluster, automatic climate control and much more.

The Japanese-spec model is expected to feature with a 1.0litre booster jet and 1.2l petrol engines. Transmission options on offer would be a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The Indian model is likely to carry forward the same engines of current Swift i.e. 1.2l Kappa petrol and 1.3l DDis diesel. Maruti Suzuki might launch SHVS mild hybrid technology. The petrol is likely to deliver 21Kmpl of mileage while diesel could deliver around 26.5 Kmpl. The 2017 Swift could start at Rs. 5.5 lakh and go all the way up to Rs. 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top end variant.
